OBJECTIVE: This course provides practicing criminal defense attorneys and other interested attorneys with an intensive half day course in forensic legal case law. The course focuses on: (a) forensic legal cases (caption, year, type of case [blood, breath, urine, deoxyribonucleic acid], court decision, applicable jurisdictions, mandatory or persuasive authority); (b) their substantive forensic legal case briefs (facts, issue, holding, rationale); and (c) professional discussion and commentary on these legal cases, including their importance, relevance, and implications for criminal litigators trying similar forensic legal cases. Eight forensic legal cases and three bonus cases will be discussed.
Upon completing the course, the attorney will: (a) know and understand important and relevant forensic legal case law in today's legal practice environment; (b) have developed a good competency for understanding and discussing the types of legal issues, arguments, and opinions that arise in these and other forensic legal cases; (c) be able to integrate this case law, the written course materials, and oral lectures into their existing legal knowledge and practice skills base.
FEE: The course enrollment fee for the intensive half-day course in forensic legal case law for attorneys is Three Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($300.00), excluding accommodation and meals. The fee covers course materials and course refreshment costs.

FACULTY: Course instruction will be provided by Steve Lefler, JD. Mr. Lefler is a practicing criminal defense attorney who possesses over forty (40) years of legal experience and has tried more than one hundred seventy five (175) jury trials and more than three hundred fifty (350) bench trials during his career. He has litigated a variety of criminal and civil cases. Mr. Lefler is a current member of the Nebraska State Bar Association.
CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION CREDIT: This course in forensic legal case law for attorneys has been approved for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit in several jurisdictions. Attorneys are responsible for verifying whether this course is approved for CLE credit in their respective jurisdiction prior to the course date.
